A closer look at the journey.

Langtang Valley combines a road approach from Kathmandu with a gradual walk into the mountains above Syabrubesi. The trail follows the Langtang Khola through forest to Lama Hotel, then reaches the more open country around Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa. Mountain walls, grazing ground and village life remain close to the route.

A day based at Kyanjin Gompa allows a local walk without moving the overnight camp or lodge. A higher viewpoint such as Kyanjin Ri can be discussed with the guide, depending on the group and conditions. The programme returns through the lower valley, with spare Kathmandu time before onward travel rather than treating the road journey as an afterthought.
